Made a little picture of my dog lucy with hexels.

Pretty cool program. The glow function in it gives the drawings a really cool CRT tv effect. Lots of fun to play with.

A gif of my duck walk cycle for a little sketchbook animation I’m making, and the original poses sitting on my knee (they’re small!)

Those bus sketches led me to staying up late one thursday night editing a very amateur two minute-ish audio for a this little guy.

I also drew a bunch of quick drawings to flesh out his story, now I just need to sit down and put it all together!

An illustration I did for a school PTSA reflections competition.

The topic was “The Magic of A Moment”, and I figured everyone would be doing a kiss, so I chose to make it about kids, tree forts, and that moment (maybe just in retrospect) where you don’t have a single serious worry.

working on the animatic (basically the storyboard synced to sound) with a bit of quick animation for the giggles.

Doing things like thinking about one second of animation for 45 minutes makes for a very long, long process. but it’s good. I think I’ve got a cool story to tell, so I’m really excited to show you guys when it’s more, I guess “put together”.

Slowly figuring out how I want to draw the lizard in my animation for school. I’m almost done with the audio, but this semester has a way heavier workload than last, so I feel like if I work on this animation at home right now I fall behind on school work.

January is tough man. Working weekends, cold hands, and creeping deadlines are killing me when it comes to making progress on projects like this blog.

I am, however, making progress. Slowly but surely. I’m definitely doing better than I was one month ago.

I was working on finishing a story I started two years ago this MLKjr weekend. I still haven’t fully wrapped my head around the timing or a satisfying ending, but I’m close!

I’m going to try and do this for as flash project in my business class, and will have about 15 hours in class time to do it.

I’ve been pretty disappointed in my full figure drawings lately, so I decided to work on some faces. This one in particular turned out the most interesting, but I feel bad drawing them because I’m neglecting my anatomy skills. I shall work on it.

I saw my dog staring at me in our driveway, and just thought her shadow looked really cool. Shadows casting a different silhouette is old news, but seeing it in real life, formed naturally was really cool.

I’m also slowly understanding how to do what I want in terms of painting in photoshop. I think I might be ready to start working with some color!

Here are two little doodles with a cheap calligraphy pen I bought yesterday. I’ve always loved pens, but now I really love pens.

I see many fancy pen purchases in my future.

It’s pretty tough to do school, work, and balance more schoolwork, hanging out with friends, and committing to a semi-finished piece of art every day. I really like the idea of posting some sort of progress everyday, but I don’t know if that will be possible.

Practicing perspective, I was really not liking how the pen drawing was going, said whatever and busted out some acrylics and started smearing.

A strange creature watching the submarine enter her domain

I plan on re-doing the first panel of this comic thing to make it an actual painting later. This whole thing is really just to train myself on how to paint in photoshop, but I think the characters I have in mind will be fun to meet and see them meet each other. (and I can clearly use the practice)
